My Post-Natal Vitamins in 2016

post-natal-vitamins

Hello everyone!

This blog post focuses on post-natal vitamins. It looks a lot but you know what, I enjoy eating them lol!

As most of you already know, I have given birth to a baby boy in late July… and I haven’t really recovered fully 😭

Just to share with you, this time round, child birth pain was extremely painful. The process was fine, took the whole day contracting (and sleeping due to Methyldopar). The pushing part was there-are-no-words-in-the-world kind of pain. I shrieked a bit, forced with all my might and the warrior was born! 😁

Ok fast forward to being at home: Lower half of my body aches. From the waist down. Masya Allah… Only He knows how a simple thing like sitting and getting up is a norm to you, is suddenly sooo hard for me. My back bone is killing me. It shakes and feels like someone is pulling me down from below.

5 weeks later, Alhamdulillah. I can resume all housework 100% by myself.

Now let’s go through what I have been consuming!

  1. Habbatussauda by Innolife Assaudah (top row, 1st bottle on the left)

I have been consuming this for 1 year now. It’s actually black cumin oil aka Nigella Sativa aka Habbatussauda. The oil is packed in capsules so it’s easy to swallow. I take 2 caps every morning and has helped me in a BIG WAY. It prevents fever, flu, cough, fatigue, migraine and helps increase milk supply.

Where to buy it? I get mine from Zizie Ummu Nurul.

2. Alfalfa Complex by Shaklee

I have been looking for a supplement that contains Chlorophyll and affordable. Luckily, my supplier in JB has it and it’s called Alfalfa Complex. I specifically want Chlorophyll because I know that it works for me very well in increasing my breast milk supply. Unfortunately I have to take the full dosage (which is 10 tablets per day). If you’re breastfeeding and want to increase your milk supply, consider buying this ASAP!

3. Omega 3 Premium Fish Oil by Madre Labs

This one is a bit special. The softgels is made of Fish Gelatin unlike other softgels which is made of bovine or unknown synthetic ingredients. As you already know, Omega 3 is important for mine and my baby’s brain development.

Where to buy it? At iHerb.com of course!

4. ESP by Shaklee

Ok this is something new to me. ESP is actually a protein powder, similar to the one people drink after training in the gym. The only difference is ESP is made from non-GMO soy and doesn’t contain body-building/weight loss stuff. This is completely safe for pregnant and breastfeeding moms. What’s so special about eating a high protein diet like this is: It makes your breast milk filling for the baby. He feels fuller faster. I have tried this myself. I took 3 tbsp, mix with cold water + Milo either for breakfast or lunch. 1 hour later when he latches on, he will definitely sleep on the breast and feel satisfied. You have GOT to try this!

5. Zofea Beauty Secret Kawaii Collagen

I have been selling this hot product for 2 years straight and this is my first time consuming it. Tastes great and makes your breasts firm. I highly recommend this product for breastfeeding moms. Pregnant moms please do NOT consume this yet as it contains Pueraria Mirifica which can complicate your pregnancy and harm your baby. People with breast tumors/cancer are advised to consult your doctor first. Back to the point: Moms whose boobs have been milked for your little darlings, you can consider taking this. It’s safe on the long term too. Visit the manufacturer’s website here for more info.

6. Sunflower Lecithin by Now Foods

Ahh.. this product here is a blessing to me. Thanks to the sunflower farmers! Lecithin is a fat that is essential to the human body. Eggs and cauliflower contains this stuff that can help break down your fats! Amazing right? A good fat breaks down a bad fat. So why do i eat it? Firstly, I chose Sunflower Lecithin because I am a pro vegan supplement supporter (except that I cant do anything about the gelatin capsule argh!) Next, Lecithin helps relieve my engorged breasts which I suffer from at every child birth. I don’t know why but I simply cant be late for my pumping sessions. Those polyclinic visits, massage sessions will definitely delay my pumping schedule and therefore make my breasts engorged. So when I eat Lecithin 3x a day, it makes the milk more diluted and flow easily. It is completely safe for mommy and baby.

Where to buy it? At iHerb.com, where else!
